Here we go. Final deadline for The Magician and The Fool is Monday, which means I have finish it Saturday, cast the Fedex spell, and send it off.

The story at this stage has been such a riddle to me, many late evolutions due to huge personal upheavals over the summer, so lots of rewrites were necessary very late in the manuscript-building process, here. It's a stronger story, though, one with some purer expressions of dread, confusion, angst. I feel much more confident about it than I did even a week ago. Part of me wishes I had another 6 months to work on it, but c'est la vie, I'll just have to jot extensive notes about where I am right now and carry that over to a future project. I've never thought of this in terms of "sequel," but there may be too much to say to stop at one story in the M&F world.  We'll see if readers dig it enough to make that happen.

I've been doing one-card draws for this last part of the project, just to keep tarot imagery in front of me. Sometimes tarot delivers a punchline with pie-in-the-face hyperbole. Here's the card I've drawn three times in the last week.

I think that's a wrap!
